NEW Kodak Vision 3 Film Stock 1000T????

Canon EOS C300 = Awesome Test Video

Probably the funniest Canon EOS 300 video you will see.

In early Fall 2011, I shot some footage with a pre-production model of the Canon EOS C300 for one week in NYC. I created an article and a video for Canon based on my experiences with the camera. The video is meant to poke fun at most camera test videos I’ve seen over the years. Canon, not thrilled with my sense of humor, does not credit or condone this video, but I think it shows a lot of the camera’s strengths.

Panasonic GX1 Video Test Footage

source: M43 Rumors

Sample movie filmed handheld with the Panasonic Lumix GX1 using its 14-42mm Power Zoom kit lens and the best quality 1080/50i AVCHD movie setting. My sample came from a PAL region, hence the 50i frame rate.

This video is part of my Panasonic Lumix GX1 preview at Camera Labs:

Olympus M. Zuiko 45mm f/1.8 Review

Matthew Duclos of Duclos Lenses has posted a review of the Olympus M. Zuiko 45mm F1.8 lens. Check it out here.

Chromatic aberrations are present but well controlled. You can see some obvious purple fringing in some of the samples where I intentionally over-exposed the background on a dimmer foreground object. The fringing is a bit more controlled at mid-range apertures but increase a bit more at the smallest apertures. Sharpness is very good in the center with almost no falloff out to the edges. Same goes for light falloff and distortion, all well controlled. There is a minor flare when shooting wide open at f/1.8.

Canon S100 1080 24P Video Test

Footage from the new Canon S100 with its image stabilized 1080 @ 24p video mode is starting to emerge. Could this be the new Sony HX9V but with 24P? I loved my little HX9V but I ended up getting rid of it because I really needed 1080@24p in a b-cam point and shoot.
