Nikon D4 Important Video Specs

The Nikon D4 has been announced and here is a quick run down of some of the video specs that really caught my eye.

“Uncompressed” HDMI out
Headphone Jack
Full 1080p FX,DX,and 2.7x View Modes.

There are lots of other specs but those are the big ones. Particularly the ability to go from full frame to Super 35mm to 16mm in full 1080p on paper looks pretty amazing. Could this be the king of the hybrid cameras?

Here is the full spec list below.

(RUMOR) Nikon D800 36mp 1080 24P Video Specs + Pictures

source:Nikon Rumors

An update to the earlier post about the Nikon D800, Nikon Rumors has added pictures and more specs. As a video user I am happy to see 1080 24p video mode. If this rumor is true then the D800 will be third Full Frame 1080p 24fps Video DSLR on the market. However keep in mind it is just a rumor at this stage.

Smaller and lighter than D700
Resolution: 7360×4912 (36MP)
CF+SD memory card slots
Slightly larger display
Excellent video quality, better than D3s
Video modes: 1080p/30/25/24 and 720p/60/30/25/24
AF identical to D3/D700
I still do not have a date for the official announcement

(RUMOR): Nikon D800 36MP sensor w/ pictures to come

source:Nikon Rumors

Nikon Rumors is saying that the Nikon D800 will have a 36MP sensor and that there will be pictures soon. 36mp seems like a hell of a lot of pixels to stuff onto a full frame sensor.

UPDATE:Check the new post here for more specs and pictures.

Nikon Mirrorless rumor + pictures

Source: and Mirroless Rumors

August 3 (rumors)–I continue to get small bits of information on the upcoming Nikon mirrorless camera. I’m pretty certain of the 1″ (~2.7x) sensor at this point, and since I can’t find anyone else making one that makes sense for the camera, I continue to wonder if this will be another Nikon designed sensor. That certainly would be an interesting development. As I noted last week, you don’t have to get very far forward from the D3100 sensor to get something that could be 10-12mp and highly credible at 2.7x.

I’ve now been told by three different sources it will launch before CES, probably in late September, and it’ll launch with three lenses (wide angle prime, kit zoom, telephoto zoom). The lenses are reportedly “quite small” in nature, along the lines of fat C-mount lenses.
